In quest’ottica, la carta vetrata cessa di essere esclusivamente un supporto pittorico, ma si trasforma nell’ ennesimo pigmento, nel materiale con il quale Carlo Pace ha stabilito un rapporto costruttivo capace di trasformarlo in un mezzo potentemente evocativo. La carta vetrata diventa espressione di un modo di essere, diventa materia primordiale sulla quale si inserisce l’impronta dell’esistenza, si trasforma in “pelle del quadro”.
Sandpaper has got a precise symbolic value and can be read as a “skin” that brings out the bitterness of existence, that glows brightly so that it seems to evoke the moods of life. In this light, sandpaper ceases to be exclusively a pictorial support, but is transformed in the umpteenth pigment, in the material with which Carlo Pace has established a constructive relationship that can turn it into a powerfully evocative mean. Sandpaper becomes expression of a way of being, becomes primordial matter on which lies the footprint of existence, and gets turned into “the skin of the painting” (Pelle del quadro).
