Carlo Pace non solo è giovanissimo, ma è anche il primo a introdurre l’Informale ad Alessandria. Vive questa fondamentale stagione in tutti i suoi percorsi, partendo dallo spazialismo di Fontana e dal nuclearismo, per arrivare a quella nuova idea della materia e del segno che saranno propri della poetica informale. Negli anni Sessanta l’Informale entra in crisi e Pace, avvertendo l’impasse di questa esperienza, cerca nuove vie, ponendo l’accento più sulla pittura che sull’elemento materico in sé.
The starting point of Carlo Pace’s artwork was the great revolution that gets into Europe in 50s with the ‘Informale’ (also known as ‘Action Painting’ or ‘Abstract Expressionism’). Carlo Pace is not only almost a kid, but he is also the first to introduce the ‘Informale’ into the community of Alessandria. He lives this fundamental season in its all routes, starting from ‘Nuclearismo’ and Lucio Fontana’s ‘Spazialsmo’, to reach that new idea of ‘matter and sign’ that the ‘Informale’ poetry owns. In the 60s the ‘Informale’ undergoes crisis and Pace, alerting the impasse of this experience, seeks for new paths, focusing more on the painting than on the element ‘matter’ itself.
